If not already mentioned, how about finish your oldest unfinished project? Just nobody get hurt digging around in the attic or basement!  :o
I’ve got one in mind. And if you finish the oldest project for the GB and want to do another just proceed to the second oldest, then third oldest, etc. Allowances made for shoddy memories like mine.

Is relevant to me.  Started Revell USS Olympia kitbash in 2009 or 2010.  As recall is maybe 1/3 built.  Have to dig to find it and survey.  Not 1/72 gunboat.  Was building to pass as modernized for WW2 in OOB scale.  Challenge is to find it.  This type GB is reason to get back to it.

I recall in Europe when there were no night bombing by the Germans anymore the P-61s were used in the strike role with some still having the four .50s on top and the four 20mm. I think some even carried bombs too.

When I mask off, I always paint along the edge of the tape with the base colour first, and let that dry. This seals the tape edge, before painting the second colour.
Rattlecan paint solvent is really 'hot', and will easily damage the paint underneath, it's something I don't do . . .

cheers,
Robin.

Hi all

A bit more progress, masked out the tail and nose for painting but it did not go to plan.

I thinned the red paint on the tail a little too much and it immediately tracked under the masking tape. After completing the tail I managed to get rid of the tracking by careful scraping and touching in with the brush.

After that I decided to create the anti dazzle strip using rattle can black but for some reason it reacted with the gloss coat (despite lightly sanding it beforehand) and and left a streaky spotty finish. It took four coats to get the nose covered and yes, it also tracked under the masking tape  :o

Again, fortunately, I managed to scrape it off and straightness with a brush.

The touching up of the wheel Wells passed off without any problems. Phew !

Here's the story so far

Just needs a little bit more work on the anti-dazzle panel

Thanks for looking........

Okay . . .
Managed to make some progress today,

Some dark paint inside the cockpits, the elevators and tailplanes are separate, so I've joined them, and the wing has a separate centre section, depending on which version you are building. I've used the 'wrong' one (without the enlarged fuel tank), but this will look better once the wing is split into two and attached to the fuselage sides.
That's All For Now, Stay Tuned . . .

cheers,
Robin.
