The Avro Canada CF-105 Arrow was a thing of beauty and drama ... but the earlier CF-100 Canuck does not get the attention it deserves. After all, advanced though she was, only 5 x CF-105s were finished. By contrast, the 'Clunk' is the only production fighter of Canadian design (thus far) - some 692 CF-100s were built (including Belgian exports).
Like most Canadian boys of the time, I built the 1961 Aurora kit of the CF-100 Mk.4. Looking back, I probably should have scale-o-rama'd that 1/67 model. Instead, I just slapped the decals on and hoped that silver plastic could pass for polished metal. She was slung from my ceiling amidst the Spits and '109s but, eventually, fell victim to Mum's aggressive model-dusting technique.
