Inspiration for the Canadian Group Build
Plonk yer Canuck-inspired tidbits here! Older builds, other folks' builds, hopeful manufacturer-applied Maple Leaves, concept art, flights of fancy, etc., all welcome :smiley:
Now, a bit of potential diorama fodder to kick us off ...

I’m considering something I pondered during a Theme build quite a while ago. I believe it was about the retirement of the Tornado. I collected the kit and some Canadian F-18 decals so it’s ready to go.
It was over on WIM in 2019.

Now ... more potential diorama fodder for anyone with an Italeri 1/32 Starfighter wingtip tank in their spares box! This shot was taken at the Canadair facility at Cartierville. I'm guessing that is the guilty CF-104 in the background ;)
(Insert: 1964 Québec license plate for colour reference.)
The period-appropriate Revell Germany 1/32 Beetle kit seems to be widely available. (I'm guessing that the Aoshima Snap Kit in that same scale is now a collector's item?)

The Canadian Army used a range of jeep types - first testing the US-made Bantam Car 5 Cwt and Willys-Overland MA types. (A number of sources claim that Bantams were used operationally - if true, those would have been ex-British BRC-40 models.)
As with the US Army, the Willys was favoured by Canada and orders were placed for 5,000 Willys MBs (for some reason, nobody ever used the MBs' official Canadian Army nomenclature of W-LU 440-M-PERS-1 ... go figure!). Prior to receiving their MBs, the Army also ordered standard Ford GPs in a range of sub-types - including GPW ambulances and amphibious GPAs (although I suspect that the latter may have come from British Army stocks).
Quite late in the war, the Canadian Army also ordered 'Tracked Jeeps' ... but they arrived too late for wartime service and, beside, the tracked beasties looked nothing like their wheeled counterparts.

My choice will then be R-754 in a very faded paintscheme - but without RWR. When they were added, the plane were repainted in a new gloss paint better suited for the danish climate.

I knew that the olive scheme fading badly ... but the state of the two Starfighters in your photo is off the charts!
