I won this 1/72 kit at my local club's raffle. It is from Coopertiva, molded in Russia and marketed by MPM. There is a real-life Yak.11 flying with a P&W R-2800 flying at Reno. I had the prop in the scrap-box and I thought it would work with the La.5. I figure this plane used a P&W R-3350 from a Skyraider. The battery, oxygen system, radios, and a chunk of lead ballast would have solved any weight and ballast issues.
I added an engine and cowling from the scrap-box. I have no idea where it came from, but it was a perfect match for the kit(no putty). The props came from a scrapped 45 year-old build of a FROG Gannet(UPC boxing). I added a gearbox from scrap. The model is brushpainted Testors #1103 Gloss Red. the markings are from the spares box and an AMT 1/25 '40 Ford sedan. The remainder of the model is OOB.
Adios, Larry.
