How do they think someone can even move with a pack like that! And once you get somewhere you’re exhausted. Back when I went to the field with the US Army it was the same way. And they were the so called “light” infantry. That meant you carried everything. I’ll never forget following the poor guy carrying the mortar base plate. He had the expression of an exhausted mule. I had enough trouble carrying radios and batteries.
Canadian Army Patrol Pathfinders (PPF) are specialized soldiers who are trained to operate in hostile environments and perform Adaptive Dispersed Operations.
Their main role is to insert and extract soldiers, and to bypass enemy lines. They are also trained to operate under extreme mental pressure and physical strain.
Some of the skills that PPF are trained to perform include: Rappelling out of helicopters, Parachuting from any airframe, and Swimming out of any ship.
The PPF course is known to be very challenging, and has historically had high attrition rates. The course lasts 11 weeks.
