At AirVenture 2008, T-33 ace pilot Chris Rounds approaches me about his idea for a "Lockheed shot" featuring the P-38 and T-33. Before we knew it, we had 4 aircraft involved. With Mike Burke flying our Bonanza, we gingerly flew the formation around the lake just North West of KOSH in a diamond formation. In order to make that formation work shooting from the 3/4 rear, you have to cheat some positions to look symmetrical. In this case, the camo T-33 is actually slot behind Glacier Girl and Ruff Stuff is slot under the Red Knight. This version of the shoot was never published as far as I know...enjoy!

Not the greatest picture quality, but what a formation!

Lots of personal favourites there. The only way this could have been any better is if they had tried to go slow enough for a Mi-24 to catch up.

Although this picture clearly emphasises to me the logistical/maintance nightmare the Indian Air Force must have had!
I can't help picking up that one aircraft missing in this line up is the Sukhoi Su-7 Fitter....When did the Su-7 get phased out of IAF service??

The last of the IAF's Su-7s were retired in 1986. Other retirees in that photo are: Ajeet (1991), MiG-21 (2013), MiG-27 (Dec 2019), MiG-23 (2009), Hunter (1996), MiG-29 (2006), and Canberra (May 2007).

Thanks for the clarification apophenia!
In fact, it was seeing the Ajeet which made me question the absence of the Su-7, not realising that the Ajeet actually soldiered on for so long....
