Hey Wombat - love the Camo.

What do you think of SMS paints?

I got the AUSCAM set for some AFV's, and since then use SMS almost exclusively for my work - see elsewhere some of the SU-27 etc colours.

I love the paint - easy to spray and use.

They're pretty-much my go-to for almost everything that can be spray painted now, although Tamiya acrylic paints are still a close second & the two are pretty compatible.

OK, back at the bench (a bit) today. Did some small-part painting & fitting, but there's still more to do before decals & weathering.  :smiley:


Wife health issues, home loan refinancing & general crap has been getting in the way of bench time for a while, now.

Thanks for the well-wishes, mate, but, unfortunately, Mrs Wombat was taken to hospital on Sunday afternoon unable to eat or drink. It appears she has a very low grade COVID infection, possibly from as long ago as November, when we both had it.

It didn't show up on RAT's but the hospital does PCR tests on everyone admitted & that came back +ve to the dread lurgy.

This may be the cause of her throat swelling. Her specialist isn't happy with what the public hospital are doing & saying, & she was meant to go to the private hospital where she had the op today but they (pretty-much any hospital) don't accept confirmed COVID-positive transfers in.

So, it's become a game of "wait & see".

Poor ol' chook is not a happy camper, right now.

Modelling has been on an extreme go-slow, lately, as I try to catch up on things that I fell behind on while SWMBO was in hospital & recovering. Luckily the throat thing was not a cancer, after all, but was a potential precursor viral infection (so, better out than in).

Tomorrow was supposed to be my "Me Day" but that's been thrown out the window, because I now have to go & collect a camper-trailer tent we've bought for my elder daughter with my ute.

Would be so much easier if I could put it on my trailer but that's unregistered, at the moment, because there's no point, as I can't get it through the garage to the road, as the younger daughter (who is living with us) has all of her household stuff filling up that side of the garage.

Everything is on except the rear-vision mirrors & 2 x water Jerry cans! :smiley:

One of the wheels is slightly wonky, but I'm not going to try to fix it, because it's CA-glued on & trying to remove it will, without doubt, result in me damaging/destroying the suspension system. :-[

I'll spray some gloss on it over the next few days while I figure out the markings. Once they're on it's washes & weathering time ... Hopefully I can keep it restrained for a change. ::)

Sounds very similar to what Mrs Claymore had a few years ago except that hers did developed down the ‘C’ line.  Fortunately, it was treatable and she has been clear for the last 8 years.  Scary times though - you have my sympathies.
