The image below is of the Special Warfare Armoured Transport or Special Warfare Assault Transport (SWAT*) by Chrysler from 1962. As far as I can tell this is the only image of it.

This vehicle was ready to roll and would have been fully through development by the beginning of the US-Vietnam War.

A few features to note:

- That's not the T50 turret from Cadillac Gage, that was designed later. What it actually is is anyone's guess.
- It swam via wheel movement.

This would look great in a what-if Vietnam scenario, covered in dust and festooned with period equipment.

(*Despite the name it doesn't seem to have been aimed at police use, this wasn't done at that time)

M1128 Mobile Gun System (MGS) named 'Child Care' in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. The gun hardly ever worked and it rarely left the FOB.

I was digging through some pictures and happened on this set of a couple of Tatra firefighter vehicles I snapped at a show back in 2021.

Here's some photos I've taken at various times of vehicles associated with the Tupolev VR-3 Rejs UAV system. They are preserved at the Museum of Air and Land technology in Vyškov, Czech Republic:

Looks like there's something up (or down?) with the suspension.

Low Rider modification for the streets of Los Angeles?

First thing I too noticed was the lowered hull profile.  Reminds me of the BTR-60PB we had in our unit motor pool/park.  When unpowered it sat very low to the ground.  When it was powered up-engines running it would rise up on the deflated tyres to normal height and roll along.  Power down and the air drained out of the tyres and it sat almost lilke that MGS.

Cuban BTR-100

No, I'm not kidding.

It's the BTR-60PB plus the gun & mantlet of a T-55 surrounded by a custom turret. The cupolas are from the T-55

Cuban BTR-37

A BTR-60PB with a twin mounted 37mm aa gun. You couldn't make this up.

Never mess with a Cuban with a welder.

That’s some serious whiffology! If you built a model of that you would have to argue with people to get it placed in a RW category and not the whiff table. No one would believe it! I wonder how well those conversions actually work?

African BTR-90mm

North Yemeni mechanics took the turret from AML-90s and mated them up with BTR-60PBs

The BTR-60PB is still available although just about any BTR-60 will do as long as it has a covered troop compartment. The AML-90 may be harder to find at a good price. Tiger model made one, but I think they're out of business.

2S14 Zhalo-S ('Sting-S')

BTR-70 with 85 mm 2A62 gun in custom turret.
Not pursued as a vehicle because it could not fire barrel-launched missiles.
