The Italeri 1/72 B-57 kit has a nose like that as one of the options

Random idea:  SEAD "Wild Weasel" style Canberra, probably based on Canberra B(I).8 and equipped with either Martel ARMs or perhaps US supplied AGM-45 Shrikes?

Nice! But they've put the engines a little too far inboard, which would require a major reworking of the main landing gear.

Well spotted !
The engines need to be over-and-under, like a Short Sperrin . . .

I like.  I know it goes against the spirit of the Canberra concept (essentially a jet Mosquito) but I do like the idea of a stinger tail gun.

P.28, based on the B.8 airframe with a PR.9 nose housing a 'blue parrot' radar, pilot has opening canopy from PR.9, nav has ejection seat, span reduced by six feet each side by clipping wingtips, 500 gal tip tanks fitted.
Engines were to be 11,250 lb st RA24s, or lower powered RA29s, giving more range. max weight was to be 55,996 lb,with 23,294 lb fuel and 8,000 lb weapon load. Fuel could be traded for increased weapons load. Target penetration speed was to be 500 kt IAS.

Imagine those wingtip pods replaced with the big rocket pods from the F-89.

Just a thought, the guidance radar for Bomarc was trialled on a much modified B-57 with a Bomarc nose.  Replace the Bomarc radar with a proper airborne interception radara and add suitable missiles, for an interesting interceptor to compliment F-101B's.  Perhaps start with a mix of Sparrow Ii's but develop other missiles, such as the Bendix Eagle (from F6D-1), AIM-47, or an air-launched upper stage of a Talos missile (AIM-8K, perhaps?).
