I would like to know more about how you created your LO-FAT Pods.  They are quite interesting. 

Yourj Hornado VG-VTOL Harrier/Tornado combination is a very nice concept.  I hope we will see more WIP images of this as you continue the project. 

So what is the name of that Sukhoi-F-16XL going to be?  :)

I don't usually take that many wip pics, but if anyone's interested I could take some more during my next projects. As for the Harnado, its almost finished and there are no wip pics .

So what is the name of that Sukhoi-F-16XL going to be?  :)

I've got it narrowed down to a few names, but you'll have to wait till its finished before I settle on one, should be in a few days.

Harnado Mk.II finished:

Mk.I underside:

Its kinda ugly, but I didn't have a spare harrier or want to do much work to the bottom, also the landing gear outriggers are mounted on the fuel tanks.

Mk.II underside:

Muuuch better looking using an actual harrier underside and nozzles.

I personally like the look of the intakes of the Mk.I, but the overall look of the Mk.II (nozzles, gear) looks way better. Perhaps a Mk.III will combine the Mk.II with the Mk.Is intake,reinstate the ecm stinger, add some conformal fuel tanks and have some storm shadows hanging off the wings.

Still not quite finished:

Official name "Strike Falcon", however it is better known by its crews as the "Mighty Duck" because of its duck nose and impressive performance on a single engine.

Harnados look deserty and air-to-ground lethal.
Modified F-16 side project looks don't mess with me air-to-air lethal.  Inspired to build similar.

Time for some updates

Recently I decided to go back to my tiny roots and finish off a few 1/350 builds:
Original prototype swept wing hornet, more of a flanker feel:

Upside down hornet, inspired by cf-18 false canopy:

AESA radar AWACS. Could have put that pod on a regular hawkeye, but thats not how I roll.


Greyhound as mini Airbus A400, the A200(or maybe closer to A150):

Something I threw together, but it does look nice. Candidate for up-sizing?

I'm not great at explaining, but here goes:


Measure what kind of munitions you want - create an open box with said dimensions - attach box to styrene skeleton - wrap sheet styrene around the flat sides, putty for the curves using the skeleton as a shaping guide - add sheet styrene with triangles cut out on the bottom - PSR

Thank you for the WIP images of your LO FAT weapons pods, really neat idea and happy to know a little bit more about how you put it together. 

The Mighty Duck F-16 is quite striking with the side by side seating arrangement.  Wonder how the F-111 cockpit would fit into that F-16?

I actually did want to use an f-111 cockpit, but I din't have any in the stash. I think preliminary measurements showed it would fit quite well. Anyhow there is space for 2 pilots because I used the back end of an A-6 cockpit.

This is one of the main reasons I don't adhere to specific real world paint schemes - colour matching. I really want this to be a jasdf bird but I'm not satisfied with the way the light blue came out, it just doesnt look right. Kit paint guides arent much help either. I'm gonna have to strip it and try again.

-distended center fuel tank like the EE Lightening instead of drop tanks

Looks better especially the light blue.  Still not 100% satisfied though, but I don't wanna strip and repaint it a 4th time so I will chalk it up as a learning experience and move on.

I'm a big fan of researching colors but switching them if they don't look right to your eye. I think you should trust what you see, and I think that leads to a more satisfying build

F-2xl coming along. One of the problems with this camo scheme is lighting, seriously almost every pic of the real one is slightly different.  But anyway now that I've applied the decals and finished painting and look at it more and more, I'm quite happy with the way it turned out.
 All thats left is to make some CFTs, they'll be a pain to make but totally worth it.
