Panavia Tornado IDS

Been a while since I did any profiles - found this nice line drawing of a Panavia Tornado IDS on Wikipedia and thought I would do a few color profiles. These are all countries that actually considered acquiring the Tornado, to one degree or another.

First up is one for Australia:

That is beautiful! I envy you guys who do these profiles so well. They always turn out so much better than my paint jobs!

I can really see the Canadian's getting Tornados.

A request:  A Chilien one? - as 'payback' for assistance in the Falklands War...

We were actually part of the original MRCA project back in the beginning, along with France. I think we bailed first. :(
Second shot was the early 80s as part of the NFA program that led to us adopting the F-18.

I'm not planning on doing any other variants (ECR, ADV, etc.) that would require new linework. I think the Tornado Wild Weasel proposal had an enlarged housing on the tip of the vertical tail (similar to the EF-111 Raven).

I have always thought the Tornado would have made a perfect replacement for the Phantoms and Buccaneers on the RNs CVA01 class carriers, had they ever been built.  ;)
