I started this one sometime ago, but it got boxed when I did a house move a few years ago.  I should get and finish it sometime --- I call it a Shorts Choco Toucan.

Bottom pic is what I'm going to load it out with, or a combination of some of them.

Where did you get the 20mm gun barrels?
My question is how would it look on floats? Single float or double?

Mustang Mk.1a kit by Italeri kerick.  You might find it amazing to know but the Tucano wing is practically exactly like a P-51 wing.  And the tailplane is also a dead ringer for the Mustang tailplane, plus the fin and rudder just look like a development of the P-51 fin.

Well, structurally, twin-floats would be easier to do and could be done cleanly, picking up the existing main landing gear trunnions.  A single-float design, with the forward strut picking up the nose landing gear trunnion could also work but you'd have to reinforce the structure where the main loads of the float would be carried into the aircraft.

Plus placing the wing floats would be a challenge. Like I need another project!!!!

Random idea:  EMB—314 given floats from Spitfire floatplane and then put in either Brazilian or Indonesian markings.  Thought one issue might be the need for larger floats given the weight difference between  aircraft.   Does anyone make a 1/32 float conversion for the Spitfire?

Liking this one.  Fine for dealing with infiltrators around the archipelago.

Thanks but a bit of research has identified a potential 1/32 conversion kit from Greymatter Figures.

Never heard of that outfit before Greg, went on their website and had a look myself. I'm in the market for a set of Spitfire floats in that scale because I've always wanted to build a 1/72 Lancaster float plane, the Nottingham I built some years ago got done because the 1/24 floats I got to do a Lanc' floatplane was too big so I built the bigger Nottingham instead.

I didn't see any floats on that website though, are they in the planning stage or something ?

Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way entirely too well on my own.  Got a couple other projects I'd like to start on, but we have to move by the end of the year so that may wait (doesn't help I'm working 10-hour days and my off-Fridays all seem to have something medical - either a test or a doctor's office visit - happening).  Actually, I have plans for a 1/48 fixed gear P-40B with spats in the "acquire components" stage.  It will probably be in either Chinese or Flying Tigers markings.
