Another might be simply that the Germans and Italians are looking for a option other than Ju87s for the Graf Zeppelin/Aquila.

My thought here exactly!

I must admit that a D4Y2 in a scheme similar to these would be cool.  Though depending upon when, would they serve with the Regia Aeronautica Italiana or the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana?

Whilst it makes sense, the Italian naval schemes might be a tad boring...

Of course, one could also do something different and also do a D4Y2 in something such as Hungarian or Swedish schemes (I'm sure suitable back stories could be written) with schemes such as:

Could do a whif scheme with the overall Grigio Azzurro Chiaro 1 overlaid with a smoke rings pattern in Grigio Azzurro Scuro 3.

Not all the Italian Naval schemes were boring.  Form Apophenia's excellent drawings..

Got a request that I hope someone is willing to do, a LTV A-7F (aka A-7D+) in an Aéronavale scheme

Can someone do a half-track AVGP Grizzly or Cougar? The rear two axles being the tracked portion.

Or a 4x4 LAV-2 with those snowmobile tracks that you can retro fit to quads etc.

LOL, I wondered if I'd actually had an original idea for a second. I've probably seen yours back in the What-If Modelers forum days!

I think the result would look a lot like the BMS Alacran or that Iranian prototype.

Thanks,
