Junkers Ju-212
« on: December 25, 2012, 11:06:37 PM »
For Christmas, my father offered me the Junkers EF-112 (Unicraft 1/72), a twin-boomer of course. I plan to reduce its span making it a biplane, and remove its undercarriage, making it a glider, or a plane with 2-blade propellers, horizontal on the model.

the jet engine is a wonderful idea, thanks!
For the canopy, I feel unable to handle properly the vacform one, so I plan to paint black a faired canopy in the nose:

I think the jet should go under the aft fuselage, Tophe -- ala that other aircarft (Revell 72nd kit).

Make it a prone pilot with all-glass nose !  (I have plans for a prone pilot in a scale-o-rama Luft'46 racer ;) )

Ahhh a jet powered, twin-boom biplane!

A certain Slowy-Jet builder should be along any moment to check this one out...

A real tour-de-force, mon-ami!

I am just starting again modelling and I have no spare jet to install, while... the radial cowling could be a ramjet exhaust, ahem, I said "could"...
For the prone pilot with an all glazed nose, I think I won't: I feel like a trauma the diagnosis of Freudian psychiatrists pretending we love aircraft for their phallic shape, especially the ones with a faired glazed nose :( ;)

Thanks Brian.
Well, this is not a masterpiece, according to me, but the one I had dreamed of has been turned solid almost successfully (thanks for the support):

That turned out very nicely, Tophe! Looks ready to explore another world...it's got a bit of a Space 1999 look to me.
Must be that very cool tinted canopy!

Excellent work, mon ami!
