All I can say is,  this is typical (adding a few expletives). Only just secured an Accurate Armour version  :(

But for the rest of you, much joy and rejoicing to be had

New Ferret version as well, plus many other re-releases.

Airfix 2025
Forty years late but definitely nice to finally see an affordable Alvis Stalwart,  My last Stalwart was from Matchbox in 1/87 scale with BP markings way back in 1966.  Always liked the Stalwart so I am looking forward to adding a pair to the stash under the MKPP (Model Kit Protection Program).

Yeah, well, having taken one for the team, again, the AA version will be for my Brit Vehicles group.
Looking to perhaps secure an Airfix offering, whenever they arrive down here, as an Whiffer Aussie Vietnam version perhaps.

Well now you can perhaps look joyfully forward to a 3.7 inch AA gun, got one of them recently as well  ???

Nice to know I wasn't the only one who was dancing a jig of excitment when the email from Airfix arrived yesterday!

Pre-ordered one from Airfix straight away, and now I have the "should have I ordered two????" dilemma to overcome  ;D

I've pre-ordered two from Airfix, I may have to add another one or two, if I get the chance, when they hit our Southern shores.

Heh. Like Jeffry, I had the Matchbox Stalwart in BP colors, and I saw the Austin Duck Tours vehicles on numerous occasions, even got to see one plowing into LadyBird Lake once. (Never really liked the Stretched version, though.) This is pretty cool.

Hmmm...Stalwart with 105mm or 155mm howitzer mounted on back.  A bit like an early version of some of today's wheeled SPGs.

Go big or go home?

I was thinking of something along the same lines but with something slightly smaller like the Quad Fifty Mount as a floating gun truck.

It will probably be delayed and cost several times more than the original price.

I am thinking more along the lines of a 105mm L118 light gun on the back along with onboard ammunition

I note Wikipedia no longer claims that Australia operated the Stalwart as they did for many years.  They now claim that Austria did.

The Ferret looks pretty neat-I've seen pictures of two that were up-gunned with 20mm cannon.
