PSR is done on the Pinto body and truck fender combo because I said so. Enough already. So, guess what happened? I had sprayed on some primer to help with the PSR and when I sprayed on the white I got a bunch of wrinkles in various spots. Paint gremlins are at it again. Sanded that down and sprayed red after a couple of days and new wrinkles in totally different spots. I had made a box to fit behind the Pinto and gave it a coat of red. It came out fine except for some lint. I sanded that lightly and sprayed it again with the same paint. Wrinkles on the top and one side but not the others. Makes no sense at all. Paint hates me! Is there anyone who would like to paint the things I build?

Here's a couple pics of the paint complications.

This is the worst one. Wrinkles on four sides and this is after sanding.

The Pinto body is not that bad. Still a few small areas one in particular is hard to reach.

The truck has all of it's wheels on! That's progress! This also shows how it will look like when done. There will be other details added soon like diamond plate on top of the box and the open space between the fenders.

Too bad about the paint job - are the wrinkles orange peel? I have an endless battle with cat hairs, so I know how annoying lint can be.

The Pinto on the truck looks great! All that protection should reduce the chance of this happening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-Qj58o87sY

At least the top of the box will get a sheet of diamond plate to cover it. The sides have been sanded smooth again so I’ll try the paint soon.

Gave everything another shot of red tonight. I shook that can until I thought the ball would pop out! It looks good now, I’ll see what I have in the morning.
