This scene is similar to somewhere or anywhere in the world. If you have seen something similar or very similar than you know what I mean. The scale is 1:35.

Who's Frank? ;)

(narrows eyes) You can be fined for heresy within the temple, y'know. Seriously, that is astonishing work, made perfect by excellent photography.

Great diorama! It really looks like a photo of a full scale work yard. The weathering is just perfect!

Who's Frank? ;)

I use a few ReedOak figures with my models for scale and visual interest, in particular, the French Mechanic, so he's pretty recognizable around here:

Thanks, especially coming from an artist like you!

For the skin tone, I used the Scale 75 acrylic flesh paint set over a dark red ink wash. The paint looks like and works just like Vallejo. I think Vallejo, AK 3rd generation or the newer Mig ATOM paints in similar shades would work just as well, or better.

Thank you. I am really not that good with figures but I am trying. I will have to test out the new Vallejo paints. Appreciate the link you posted. BTE, you said you used inks. What brands?

I used the AK Interactive 3rd Generation Skin Ink (AK11221) which is a dark brown, great for shadows.

I also have a very old set of Dr. Ph Martin's Radiant Concentrated water color inks. They're great - when they say concentrated, they mean it - just touching the eyedropper that comes with the bottle against the inside of an airbrush cup is enough to produce a noticeable change of tone in the acrylic paint in the brush.
