Royal Canadian Air Force CC-137 Boeing 707 taxiing for takeoff at CFB Comox back in 1991. 437 Husky SQN operated a fleet of five 707’s until 1997 when they were retired. Some were converted into E-8 J-STARS with the USAF and still operational.

That's an interesting photo Carl, the diagonal metal strut attached to the door (two flat bars at the top, one flat bar at the bottom) isn't in any 1/72 C-130 kit I have. However, the Flightpath PE C-130 interior set I have does have it, only it's oriented wrong. I was planning on building one of the kits to have the door horizontal like that too, but it looks easy enough to do out of styrene strip. I would say as it's extended to the max, that the bottom end would be detachable so the door can be lowered even further when it's being used as a ramp.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. You wouldn't want a sudden hydraulic failure when you have a heavy pallet sitting on the ramp door ready to parachute out, would you.

On either side of the outer flap tack fairings, there's two other fairings with flat bottoms. Are those for pylons to be attached ? And what are those bulges for on the forward end of the engine nacelles ?

I couldn't help but notice that the lavatory and galley have been positioned as far from the crew rest area as physically possible
