Carro Armato M13/40 (Regio Esercito)- Tamiya 1:35
« on: November 25, 2025, 03:08:09 AM »
Hello everyone,
I have started assembling this Tamiya kit:

by Rodolfo Masti, on Flickr

to depict a tank from the 133ª Divisione corazzata "Littorio"

source:https://www.worldwarphotos.info

The 133rd Littorio armoured Divisions took part in the Battle of Mersa Matruh and was destroyed during the Second Battle of El Alamein (23 October – 11 November 1942).
The remnants merged into the Ariete Tactical Group, which continued fighting in Libya and Tunisia into April 1943.

A quick look inside the box:

I should probably finish mine ... It's only been sitting around for 11 years.  ::)

Oh, man - that is nice, I'm both inspired and shamed.

Check your PMs, op.

To make it more faithful to the original, the main modification to be made is to shorten the fender:

Good call on trimming the fenders, Rodolfo. And some nice work on cutting back those Tamiya fenders, too

The mod's are great!

But I'm loving the Griffiths Bro's Tea ad painted on the building - so-o-o Australian!  8)

And I'm pretty sure that's a Melbourne Bitter ad on the adjacent wall!  ;)

It reads "A good (Drop?) in the Cup*, but better on the tonsils".

I must confess that I was tempted to make the tank in the Australian style.  ;)

I applied the ochre filter to the entire tank and installed the resin tracks.
