The Volvo FH 4 series Flat Roof with Loaded Lowbed trailer
« on: August 03, 2025, 11:33:11 PM »
Still not used to the settings of this new phone. Got some slight weathering and probably add a thing or two, if needed. But it seems I might have to change the position of the bucket... Or remove it completely.

For those who are wondering about this build. First thing first. I am no truck driver. I try and mimic what I see 99% of the time. The way I built is according to some photos I posted in my previous threads. Some are taken from memories of similar style rigging. I like to model unusual things. electrical cables or airlines got broken or were missing. So I have to order new ones. That's why there are no airlines attached. So what you see, is what I have seen on the road or in photos. The Volvo truck is from Italeri. The Trailer is from JK Model Parts, a 3D printed sectional trailer( that means it can be extended to your desire; with modifications. The loads are a mixed of Italeri, 3D printed a toy which I modified a little, and extra accessories.

I mimic what I see, even though it might be wrong to a professional driver as yourself, there are still people or drivers that do stuff like this. And most often, I try to mimic the unusual and not so doable things, because its fun. 😉 and different. 🙂 I totally understand your view and I am not arguing against it at all. 🙂 BTW, I did add chain ratchets. You just can't see them.

I'm no expert but I see lots of detail in the model
I'm no truck expert either, but I'm not sure the driver has tied down everything in the best possible way  ;D

Great job !

Wish I'd known about the 3D trailer before I bought the under-sized Trumpeter one.

Load securing laws are pretty heavily enforced, here in Australia, but I've certainly seen loads not too dissimilar to that one - They're the ones I try to overtake very quickly!

This one - I had to both lengthen & widen the trailer (unless Chinese T-55-based tanks are much smaller than everyone else's).  The truck cab also seemed too small for 1/35th, three crew wouldn't fit.
