Nice info.  Nice pic of how the nozzle part adapts to the back end. I was thinking of trying the F100 nozzle to the F-14D adapter but that pic looks a lot more like the F100 directly onto the back end section of an A model.  Makes things easier from the standpoint of robbing parts from other kits.

That’s the plan.  I have plenty of Hasegawa nozzles for my Hasegawa Tomcat and I can get a few PW nozzles from Tamiya Aggressor F-16 kits for my Tam Tomcat project.

I think the exhaust I used came from a F-16N kit that has been used as a donor for other projects.

The F-14 was considered as a replacement for the CF-101.  It certainly looks good in maple-leaf.

One of my future plans is combining an F-14 rear fuselage and wings with an F-111 front fuselage. Possibly with a third engine. It would be possible to build this with the leftovers.

As many will already know, in 1979-80, Canada entered negotiation with Tehran for the purchase of 79 F-14s for which the Islamic Republic of Iran could no longer source parts or support. Ken Taylor and the Canadian embassy's part in smuggling six US diplomats out of Tehran put paid to that plan. Worth it, I'd say

Considering the TF30's problems, why?  If you have to use a lower tech engine for export, Allison's proposed afterburning TF41 makes far more sense.  TF30's bypass ratio is on the high side for a good supersonic turbofan, as proved by its lengthy development.

For those wanting to do a F401-powered Tomcat, the difference in maximum diameter between the two is roughly 2.5 inches (once upon a time, long, long aga, I worked on both versions of the JTF22).  I doubt this would be noticeable until you get to larger than 1/32-scale.
