As a side quest to see if I could use the S-2 Tracker wheel with the A-12 Avenger  tire.  I bored out the A-12 Avenger wheels and successfully inserted the S-2 Tracker wheel inside of the A-12 Avenger tire.  A learning experience but nothing I wish to repeat again.

Crikey, that’s a whole lot of delicate work there but the end product looks great.

You just know that having done all the work, you will find a whole raft of suitable replacement wheels on the interwebby…  :-\
Pass the razor saw, there is work to be done!

Thanks.  If there were no other alternatives to the wheel issues I would have gone further down this path.  This was for the most part just an exercise to see what would come of this but not much else.

The S-2 Tracker wheel hubs were conveniently separate pieces along with the outer tire halves so it was an easy to modify the ModelCollect parts and complete.  It looks better in the image than it actually does in your hand.  The decision to go with the Eduard Brassin resin replacement wheel set for the A-6 Intruder and EA-6 Prowler is the better option for this overall.  The A-12 wheels have no tread pattern to speak of and that sealed the deal on going with the resin parts.
