Title: F-105/ F-106 kitbash
Post by: Eddie M. on December 16, 2011, 08:34:40 AM
Alrightly then....

This is my project that I'm working on these days. It's been pretty fun until I started thinking about the small stuff. Luckily I've got some time coming so I can devout some time to this project.  :)

Here's how it's progressed...

A couple of mock ups...

I'll be using the TF-30 for the engine.... for now...

I like it!  Is the missile meant to be a development of the Standard ARM?  Hopefully you'll have better luck with it than the Iranians.

That is most certainly one combination of kits that I would never have imagined getting kit-bashed together like that.  Certainly provides a different look for the F-106 and F-105.

Waaay Cool! It would have taken me a long time to figure out this particular blend if you didn't post the recipe. Very Tasty! (http://www.doomisland2.com/images/avatars/ready4.gif)

Like it a bunch.  Can see you are doing careful building.  And so it is the F-105 1/2.  Slip it in a line up of Century series fighters.  Much as I like bashing, would not have thought of this.  Looking forward to seeing progress/finished pictures.

It's good, very good, and you know it.  Now, don't let the "small stuff" get to you as you mentioned.  Take David Lee Roth's advice on life, his two rules were:
1. Don't sweat the small stuff;
and
2. It's ALL small stuff.

 :)

Unfortunately no, but and there's always a hairy but, it has been lingering in the back of my mind during this long modeling dry spell. Because of this reminder, I've recovered it from the island of lost models and discovered it was further along than I had remembered. So like the glaciers that wear down mountains with slow, steady motion, I shall return this one into production with a new project I've been working on for a few months or so. The new project is a F-4/ F-101 PhuDoo. Slow and steady wins the race and I will update when I can. Thanks for the interest. :)

I've been watching the PhooDoo project and this puppy will look awesome next to it. Its like taking the entire century series and throwing it in a box and shaking it well!

Thank you Kerick....

Most dings from construction have been found and puttied. I like to use a coat of primer to find any stragglers.  Here's how it all looks put together.

Got the bomb bay installed, which had been a major delay. I finally decided to go with the simplest and get it done!

Good observation. No I haven't and hopefully won't need to. I prefer not to drill and then fill with BBs and glue, but I will if backed into a corner. ;)
