Title: Live Resin - Weapons and Accessories
Post by: Jeffry Fontaine on February 11, 2012, 12:38:14 AM
Just in case you missed it.  Live Resin - Weapons and Accessories, Figures (http://www.live-resin.com/) offers a very nice line of resin weapons in 1/35th scale and 1/16th scale figures.  Frank3K acquired some of the resin weapons and has had good things to say about the quality and details.

Thanks to Terry Ashley at PMMS we now have some new images of the latest from LiveResin 1/35th scale weapons and accessories (http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/live_resin.html)

The GPMG/MAG58/C6 and M249 with solid stock are very enticing.  But wait, there is more!  Wow!  Is there ever more!  Linked belts of 7.62X51NATO machine gun ammunition, linked belts of 40X53SR ammuntion for your 40mm grenade launcher machine gun.  Wow!  Going to my happy place now...

Bought a number of Live weapons & accessory sets for some Whif stuff I'm planning.
Haven't put anything together, yet, but they look great in the pack. :D

Got to admit, they've got a huge range for a pretty specialist accessories.  Here's hoping they move into figures as well, as there'd be some real scope for Spec Ops boys that haven't seen resin or plastic yet.

My order of LiveResin was delivered to my door this afternoon.  I have not had the heart to break open each of the individual packages yet.  Just looking at the contents in the zip-lock bags I am quite impressed by what I see so far.  My own intentions mirror yours in some respects.  I have a couple of Boys Anti-Tank Rifles that need to be tarted up with some accessories in the form of new optics and night vision or thermal sights.  I am still undecided on a suppressor but that could show up too.  My other project that will benefit from the LiveResin bits is a towed 20mm infantry support weapon based on a kit bash between the 20mm Flak 30/38 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2_cm_Flak_30/38/Flakvierling) and the 37mm Pak 36 anti-tank gun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3.7_cm_Pak_36).

That first figure has a HALO feel to it with the complete head protection features.  Maybe Live Resin can some day make a "John 117" Master Chief from the Halo franchise.

Live Resin new product accouncements (http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/live_resin.html) courtesy of Terry Ashley and uploaded to PMMS.

I took the plunge a couple of months ago and picked up several variations of the M240/MAG58/L7 GPMG and the FN Minimi/M249 SAW.  I was quite pleased with the quality and details provided in each of these Live Resin products.

LiveResin's interpretation of what the FireStorm™ - 40mm Multibarrel grenade launcher (http://www.metalstorm.com/IRM/content/firestorm.html) is supposed to look like?  FireStorm and MetalStorm are from Australia :)

Is Metalstorm still trying?

I thought it might have been a rotary grenade launcher of some kind...

Not surprised there's no details on it. When they release the promo 3D renderings it can be anything up to a year before they get close to production. As for price I guess it might be similar to their first robot?

I have a number of their weapon sets & they're good, very good.

Love the look of this thing but I've got other of their products to buy 1st, like a couple of SAG turrets & stuff.

It is only available in limited numbers from model-hobby.com.  Sells for US$45 each.  Went on sale today.

Wooser on the remote weapon station, that has a ton of uses.  And that's pretty fast into production, there's still stuff from last year they have 3D renderings for that haven't made it to their sales list yet, although not because they're slackers, just tooooo successful, I love this stuff!

Had me wondering at times what was real and what was a teaser to promote interest.  I am still surprised that LiveResin has done any more WW2 era weapons.  A real hit for me at least would be to see LiveResin introduce the Solothurn S-18/1000 anti-tank rifle with some accessories and the little carriage it came with.

I agree Jeff, WW2 and/or other scales would seem no-brainers. Descaling the modern stuff they already have shouldn't be too hard as it's all render and cad based. Oh and more figs ......   lol with their quality std they could pretty much make anything.
