Engine testbed conversion for the Shvetsov ASh-2TK radial (shown) or the multi-bank Dobrynin VD-3TK/VD-4K.

I wish someone would release a 1/48 kit of the Pe-8.

Thanks Greg!

Has any of you got this kit? In many reviews I see pics with the car, but I did not find the car in sprues. Is the car there in kit?

I believe the car is not in the kit but that the figures are.

Are there pieces for both kind of engines, inline and radials?
Or TB-7 is just a different model?

I always thought about buying a Pe-8. It is cute in its own ugly way.

From the Interweb: Originally designated the TB-7, the aircraft was renamed the Pe-8 after its primary designer, Vladimir Petlyakov, died in a plane crash in 1942.

You can see photos of the TB-7 sprues here (http://www.super-hobby.com/products/Soviet-bomber-TB-7.html) at Super-Hobby.
You can see photos of the Pe-8 sprues here (http://www.model-making.eu/products/PETLYAKOV-PE-8-ON-STALIN-S-PLANE.html) at Model-Making. The car is not included.

Airliner based in Pe-8 along with its ancestor (Ant-42)

For airliner, are sets in inboard engine nacelles first class or coach?  Pardon, comrade, are those seats designated for senior party members or are they set aside for the workers?

I'd be very tempted to do one in RAF scheme asa compliment to the Stirlings etc. Maybe either reverse lend lease or perhaps a Soviet deployment to assist with the bombing...or something else re back story.  Either way, get Pe-8 in this scheme:
