Title: Horten hears a who... in 1/32
Post by: uncle les on March 29, 2016, 05:52:37 PM
I built this a few years ago from scrap and just now while waiting for some filler to dry on another project decided to German it up a bit.

If this is a plane built from "scrap pieces" Les, I'd hate one to see one which is planned.  :P

Pretty darn good for "made from scrap"!

Cheers.  To spoil the mystery a bit, the engines are boosters from a 1/144 space shuttle with 1/32 F15 engine inserts, the tails are 1/48 MiG21 wings, the mainplane is based on a "before we really knew what they looked like" Revell B2, the cockpit are are a couple of 1/32 Phantom drop tanks, undercarriage ans some cockpit parts are from a 1/32 Me262, the canopy was formed over a 1/32 Skyhawk fuselage bump, the pilots were conscripted from the spares box and the radar is just bits or rod & wire.  No animals were harmed during the building process.

Very Good!

By the way, what is the origin of tail fins?

There's a group build idea! The scrap heap/spares box/donor kit/hanger Queen cobble-a-thon!

Brilliant!  And rather better use of that Revell kit; it certainly doesn't represent anything close to a B-2 or any of the variations studied in its evolution (been there, seen those).
