With the launch of HMS Queen Elizabeth the Royal Navy found itself needing a considerably larger Carrier-
Onboard-Delivery aircraft than than the Fairey Gannets it had used up until that date for the emergency delivery and withdrawal of personnel and equipment that had to be rushed to it's carriers.
The Dornier Do.31 filled the bill perfectly.

Outstanding!
Just the other day I was actually thinking about what the CVA01 would be flying off her decks in the 90s and later, had she and her sister(s) been built. Navalised Tornado IDS and ADV came to mind as the obvious choice to replace the Phantoms and Buccaneers.

Like it! :)
What's the model?

You are just Rockin' Rick. 8)

This is so right on :)
What if one was built today with modern lighter weight materials and better engines ?

It does not matter how odd it looks.. does the damn thing do the job.

Oh Wow!!! 8) just brilliant!! :)
I'd thought of a Fairey Rotodyne COD Whiff, but this Dornier is even better :) :)
