Here is a Hawker Tempest MK. VII as seen in service with the Dutch air force in 1949.
The MK.VII is powered by RR Griffon 85 and contra-props. The MK. VII is the grandson of the Hawker Fury MK.I. LA 610.

Build notes:
There was High Planes conversion (http://modelingmadness.com/review/allies/gb/hobbinsfury1.htm) (you have one, don't you Robert) but they are no where to be found.

Base kit is the Academy Tempest V. I nabbed an engine and props from a Frog Shackleton. I rebuild the chin and narrowed down substantially the engine. The lower cowling is chunk from an external fuel tank from an X-15. I rebuild the sides from Evergreen sheets. I added another fin to make the radiator symmetrical. I cut the cooling vents as seen in LA 610. Paint is Tamiya spray bomb. The landing gear is very flimsy. Otherwise an easy build.
Decals are from a Carpena sheet of miscellaneous Spitfires.

Great work! :)

Very nicely done.
Those are Dutch markings though, not Czech.

Four or five of them, but you can get them at Jay's Models (as with all the old Ventura products)

Nice take on one of the Griffon engine Tempests Carl :) :) which I think is actually a Mk.IV. Just a small correction though, LA610 started off as the 'Light Weight' Griffon engined Tempest, but was carried over to the Hawker Fury prototypes. LA610 appeared in other guises too, namely the Sabre VII Fury prototype.
