Title: Airfix 1/72 Bedford fuel/water/oil tank converted to a beer bowser.

The folks at Watney's Brewing Works in London got a bright idea for bringing their beer to village fetes, market day boot sales, football, rugby, and cricket matches and other fun-filled gatherings. The bought a bunch of war-surplus Bedford tank trucks and trailer parts. Then, Bob's your uncle!

This is the leftover tank from the Bedford lorry in the Airfix RAF Airfield Set. I scratch-built the tongue and axle frame and the tires and bits came from the spares-box. The Watney's decals are leftover from a Dapol(ex-Airfix) Scammell Scarab five-wheeled articulated lorry kit. As this was a quick-and-dirty build, the siphon pumps and beer pulls are inside the closed doors at the back of the trailer. The paint is Citadel Yriel Yellow.

I had fun finding a use for some leftover bits that would have just gone in the spares-box or the bin.

Grea idea! That's gagging for a diorama: think what you could do with all those lovely railway figures....

Now where is the trailer to carry all of the pretzels, crisps, and the dip?  :)

Yes, we all definitely need to be carted around behind the beer bowser! ;D
