For the model i'm thinking Supermarine 'house colours' of pale blue (as per the prototype) with dark blue (as per the 'Speed Spitfire') trim. The registration will be in black with silver outlines.
I will probably go with the artists registration prefix G-AKON, i looked at 'CON, but that belonged to a pre war BA. Swallow, 'KON, was a post war Dragon Rapide so should be ok. 'SUP, another possibility for a Supermarine type is a Cessna 172 currently extant
I will probably finish the interior cream with blue/grey leather seating, with cream also used inside of the Gipsy cowlings (abiet with 'castor oil' wash)
cheers, Joe

just musing, perhaps one of our profilers would like to give this one a go ? (maybe based upon eg. Me.108 canopy ?)
how about, a light blue civil scheme with the darker trim ... later 'impressed' into military service in camouflage with a high yellow demarcation stil with small civil serials ... then later a military serial and lowered demarcation line ... and later yet when sold overseas (Finland ?) in silver with red trim :)
cheers, Joe

That's just wonderful, Joe! Not only am I envious of your abundance of talent and skill, but also of the fact you can get away with building models at work!
Have you considered the enormous benefits of adding a pair of sleekly sexy streamlined spats?
Already looking forward to more,

a neat idea Brian re spatted undercart, def tempting
There is an actual mention of a 'spatted Spitfire' in an old issue of 'Air International' it seems one of the training schools had a Spitfire used for training with, quote, ''locked down and spatted undercarriage fitted similar in form to that of the Miles M.20 due to a number of wheels up accidents''
Unfortunately iv never seen any images of the aircraft in question, altho when discussing same with the late Eric Morgan (of Spitfire 'bible' fame) im assuming a 'tired Mk.1' due to the role and date mentioned, 1940, and also assuming the standard colour scheme for the type of green/earth with probably sky unders and maybe unpainted spats from a suitable light aircraft of the period (altho if i was modelling it id finish it with yellow below just to emphasise the role !)
cheers, Joe
hehe, id happily build more if i could get away with it, just been a quiet week with no summer school students in at the moment, bliss ! calm before the storm i guess ;)

not much done today, started shaping a limewood block to use as a plug for vacforming a cabin, next stage methinks will be digging out an old 1/32 Matchbox Tiger Moth from the stash and make a start on the engine as well as surface finishing/rescribing as required
cheers, Joe

Very cool, reminiscent of the Parnall Heck 2C.

Now for your next trick turn an old Matchbox 1/32 SBD into the Douglas DT-202. ;)

Gentlemen, we're in the presence of greatness. Very few know about the Parnell-Heck 2C, let alone the Douglas DT 202.
Now if one were to take a pair of those lovely Parnell-Heck 2C spats and add them to the Douglas...
:-* :-* :-*
Yessss...

Phillestine, sacrilege, who in their right mind would waste a Spitfire Airframe in reality to change it to a lesser powered multi seat trainer/transport??? lol
Look forward to seeing the finished article at Glasgow Joe!!
Cheers

Thanks Brian, I think, but the credit really goes to my library and an old interest in obscure types.
Joe's drawing triggered the recollection.

Reminds me of some of the Benes-Mraz aircraft designs.
Particularly the Be-550 Bibi:
