Just a place holder at present as if I don’t put this here now, I’ll never get back onto it -- need an occasional reminder :-\
-
Consider yourself reminded!
This sounds good!

Do it . Do it NOW !!!!!

Sounds like a Speed-Racer-prequel/Star-Wars crossover. :-\

Following the Douglas’ successful tests of prototypes up to a sustained speed of Mach 2, the design was upgraded for possible use to intercept Russian ICBMs.
I do have two AFVs half built at present which I’m powering on with – I am also painting the pilot of the FA-3-m but the paint refuses to be matt. As soon as that’s successful I can join the fuselage halves & stick / carve / sand the other bits on. It’s an old basic Revell 1/72 kit.

Tried to glue the windows in but had to cut the panes apart as they wouldn’t fit flat. Checked the primer, re-puttied / finely sanded the fuselage intakes – might have to enlarge them !
Looking for larger after-burner thrust-buckets too as I only have basic tubes.
What colour will it be ?? Black, White, Silver, Aggressor Grey, Glossy Sea Blue ?

HAVE GLASS!
-
And, if you airbrush, SMS do a (reportedly) very good HAVE GLASS in their Premium range (No, they don't brush well).
They do have a brush-on range now, but I don't think HAVE GLASS is in that range.
-
Somewhere I read about mixing Tamiya gray and a metallic color to get a HAVE GLASS finish. Not sure if it was this site or not.
-
I do have some metallic grey paint that looks ok in the bottle but we'll see.
Took a leap, ripped off the small intakes & added large ones …. lots of PSR to go now.
Yes, quite a hang-dog look to it. ;D

Worth it! The new intakes already look much better than the X-3 originals
That cockpit emerging from-intake effect, I'm getting a slight early-model Harrier feel ... only much, much faster! ;D

I like that look. Pure speed!
