This is in part in answer to Stephen's (Apophenia) question about other bits of Frog Stukas, whose wings were used in the Oort Clould Patrol ship build. The Adler is a high altitude (Orbit capable? Maybe.) heavy bomber. Using a combination of Strahl anti-gravity technology and reallllly long wings, the Adler was intended to deliver precision (and possibly nuclear) ordinance anywhere on Earth from a low Earth orbit launch. This isn't an official Maschinen Kreiger design by any stretch=I just liked the idea, had the parts, and well...

The build started with an very old Airmodel vacuform kit of the Blohm und Voss BV155 high altitude fighter. Airmodel's styrene sheet gets pretty brittle over time, and part of the rear fuselage shattered when removed from the sheet, so I cut away the unusable portion, and started thinking about what to do with it. After deciding to make something MaK-ish out of it, I took one of the fuselages from the aforementioned Ju 87s, glued it together, cut it off just aft of the cockpit, then cut it again lengthwise at right angles to the joints at the middle, then flipped the lower section and glued it end to end. This nicely faired over the old cockpit enclosure and changed up the profile of the original fuselage. The fin and rudder were topped by a t-tail arrangement nicked (if memory serves) from an old 1/100ish Northrop F-5. Other detail bits came from a pair of old Fujimi Pkzw I turrets (the housings above each of the radiators, here representing ducted turbofans, or some kind of jet engine for lower altitudes) The nose is out of an obscure Mecha kit from the Dorvack series, the anti gravity spheres are plastic marbles from a Hungry Hungry Hippos game, the crew are 1/144 figures from one of the Dragon Karl Morser kits (Very apparent in the closeups, but even fifteen years ago, I wasn't going to try modifying the heads.) and the bombs...I don't remember. I also decided to give it bicycle landing gear. Finish is a little rough,
but overall, I am still pretty pleased with it.

And a build with no stuka bits at all, this "Fliegende Untertasse" used some early casting efforts, (the fans are cast in alumilite from a mold of the intake fan of the old Airfix 1/24th Harrier. Think I picked it up sometime in the 80's bagged at a show.) a plastic saucer, and a section of old Space Shiuttle main fuel tank for the crew compartment.

The little turret is from the old Star Wars "Battle on Ice Planet Hoth" set, and the barrels are from some resin gaming accessory. The vanes around the intake ring were cut and shaped from sheet styrene, and the whole thing was given an Australian Mercenary Troops scheme

I love both!
The saucer is my favorite, though. Nicely thought out design and colors, with the intakes on top.

Love your Alder heavy bomber. The BV 155 bits jumped out - and are perfectly freaky sci-fi OOB - but I'd never have guessed Stuka for that rear fuselage. And that, in a nutshell, is why I love non-official Maschinen Krieger builds :-*

Nice work. I find it great to see you still have a spot for some of your older builds... I am the same with a few of mine as well.

The Adler came out great! Nice paint job on it.
