"First Spacesahip on Venus" or "The Silent Star (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Silent_Star) is a 1960 German/Polish science fiction classic. A heavily edited version was widely available in the West.

It's on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llfa7hThVaA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llfa7hThVaA)
It's an interesting movie, but the most memorable part (for me) is the space ship - the Cosmostrator:

Pegasus released a 1/350 version of the Cosmostrator in 2014 (https://www.scalemates.com/kits/pegasus-hobbies-9114-cosmostrator--283584) including a chromed version.

It's a pretty simple model, although the fit of the wings isn't great. The model also has very sharp pointy ends. While I didn't expend much sweat or tears building this, I did bleed a bit...
I built most of the components shortly after it came out and put the model back in the box until this week, when I finished it in a couple of days.

I like how it looks dull in this image:

but more reflective in this one. Pretty much the way it appears on-screen:

It's mostly painted with Vallejo aluminum colors, with a satin finish (the ship isn't shown as being particularly shiny) followed by an aluminum powder rub in some areas.
I was going to make a base to go with it and add some 1/350 scale astronauts that I printed for another project. Something like this:

The background reminds me of the style of one of my favorite science fiction artists, Richard M. Powers (http://www.richardmpowers.com) Maybe some other time.

Very nice! I notice the main hull is a bit different in shape from the resin kit you gave me.

I noticed it right away when I got that resin kit. I think the main body (and overall) is squashed compared to the original. Maybe the guy who made the masters based it off the image on an old CRT TV with a bad vertical adjustment. You did a great job on it, though.

Nice project. Looking forward to seeing the full dio with the figures.
Also looks dangerous with all those pointy ends. Remember the Seinfeld episode, Fusilli Jerry? I hope you don't end up like Frank Costanza.
