The old Frog/Novo Tupolev SB-2, not for the faint of heart.

Missing a couple of gear doors, both ones are for the right side of the nacelle, so a couple of lefties will need to be scratched. Construction-wise it would have been easier to forget about them and go with the optional skis, but I don't believe Spain gets a lot of snow. Rain, yes, mainly on the plain, (Lerner and Loewe reference ;D ) but no snow.
Markings will be for the 'Real World' Canadian contingent, the volunteer MacKenzie-Papineau Battalion (http://"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mackenzie%E2%80%93Papineau_Battalion"), commonly known as The Mac-Paps. In my universe they managed to avail themselves of a bomber, and since this was in my stash, and some actually served for the Republican side, the choice was easy. Watch out, you fascist swine, the Canadians are on the job!

 Interesting, always good to see these old kits built.

Looking good

Looks like that ancient kit built up well!

Excellent concept, La Rata! And, so far, a very nice-looking build of a 'challenging' kit ;D
For markings, maybe some 'XV' codes (for the XV Brigada Internacional)?
Always found it highly ironic that an organization named in part for William Lyon Mackenzie was made illegal by his grandson!
I recall a presentation by the Friends of the Mac-Paps at UBC back in the '80s. They showed a doco film and there were some lively reminisces from some of the Old Boys. The biggest eye-opener was the post-Civil War attitude of the Canadian Army. Most of the BC Mac-Pap combat vets were refused and spent WW2 working in the bush as loggers.

They were probably viewed as mercenaries, and bringing them into the military would be politically problematic.

They were declared "politically unreliable" = commies. And to be fair, most Mac-Paps were well-screened CPC members.
The interesting bit it that the Canadian Army's attitude didn't change once we were allies with Uncle Joe. Nor once it because necessary to deploy 'Zombies' overseas (speaking of potentially 'unreliable' - at least the former Mac-Paps wanted to fight).

Very. Good. Point.
