This is an early delta wing plane from the late 30s:

It was a quick build and the fit was excellent. The hardest part was the final paint job; I didn't feel motivated to replicate the boxtop. Some Google searches show that the original plane could have been a single color - aluminum paint over the wood surfaces or all red.
I got in touch with my inner EricR and went with the all-red version, with only modest weathering:

Overall a quick and trouble-free build. I was tempted to whif it by adding jet engines, but in the end, I liked the basic shape and kept it unmodified.

Maybe wing edge Sidewinders ?

Only 500 pieces !! I presume they're talking about the number of kits molded, not the number of parts in each kit ? :o ;D

They only made 500 kits. The kit only has about 35 parts.

Nifty and tiny! Honestly 35 parts seems like a lot of parts for so clean and simple a plane. The canopy looks fantastic.

The canopy fits well - it's a little loose in the picture. It was a nice quick model - a "palate cleanser"

Looks really good
