Title: Where is this one going?
Post by: The Rat on August 06, 2024, 04:36:09 AM
Or, rather, where will it be coming from? Well, the cargo will be wine...

Considering how bad the winscreen is, I did more with the flight deck than I should have

Yes, it's this bad, and that gap is diabolical

The kit is clay in the hands of the maestro... you will whip it into shape

That windscreen gap is something else! Can you make it contact at front and just build up the rear, since it has a simpler cross-section?

The gap is vertical, so I'm building up the bottom of the windscreen with strips of plastic.

Scraped off the primer to aid the glueysticky bit, masked, and this Bristol Freighter will have an extended range. Can't remember where the tanks came from.

Things under the wings! A great build philosophy.

Thou hadth just read my mind Dave!

I have a HP Hastings which I just learned also carried drop tanks.

Wow, I've seen lots of photos of them never noticed those. According to PR19_Kit;

Smacks of the Dart Herald, that could be ordered with extra under wing tanks, but very few airlines actually did.

Never saw one of those either.

Never saw one of those either.

FWIW: Second prototype HPR.7 Dart Herald fitted with underwing fuel tanks (from Air Pictorial, Sept 1959).

Note that the tanks are mounted in the same positions as the outboard Leonides Majors on the HPR.3 Herald.

Second prototype HPR.7 Dart Herald fitted with underwing fuel tanks

Those look identical to the ones supplied in the old Esci F-27 Friendship kits.
