Frank sent me this a month or so ago-wasn't much to fix up, but I almost succumbed to Basher's SYndrome when I realized the similarity in configuration to the Liberator from Blake's Seven. Main hull with three outriggers, the only thing missing was the big drive ball at the stern, and I had fishing floats of just the right size...but I resisted the urge because I really love the original from "First Spaceship on Venus/The Silent Star". (And there is an available Styrene kit from Pegasus...) Some primer, polishing and puttying, and this was the result. I am pretty pleased with the base-it's a mix of pastel chalks in various earth tones, with some Vallejo 'oiled earth' wash and a little river of some kind of molten metal. I also added exhaust cones to the three outriggers and the central hull.

Wow, that came out great, Craig! I'm glad you built it - it was in my stash for 20 years or more. I thought the base was the best part of all.
Here's a pretty good copy of the movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIjpyH3_yWI (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIjpyH3_yWI)
Although I prefer the MST3K version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZRfL6Pkj38 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZRfL6Pkj38)

Frank, it was just what I needed to get back into the groove. A bit of Zap, a bit of Aves, a whole lot of rattle can chrome, et viola! I just watched a bit of the MST3K version and realized I didn't need an exhaust cone on the main fuselage, but hey, maybe this is the first spaceship on Mercury... ;)
