Okay . . .So, I know that this Gb is already half way through, but as I was stash diving to look for something to build, I came across this,
(https://i.postimg.cc/rwXv41t5/L-BUCD.jpg) (https://postimages.org/)
It fits the theme, as it is a civilian version of a military aeroplane, it's a Whiff, as it will be a One Wing Biplane, and being straightforward, I should get it built in the six weeks remaining in this GB . . .
cheers,Robin.

Slot in straight out of the box

That's a surprisingly good looking biplane. A Fokker D.VII had a one night stand with a Jenny and this was the result.

;D ;D ;D . . .
Interestingly, I've recently found out about the Fokker C.I, which was an enlarged, two-seat derivative of the D.VII . . .
cheers,
Robin.

Okay . . .
Managed to make some progress today,

Some dark paint inside the cockpits, the elevators and tailplanes are separate, so I've joined them, and the wing has a separate centre section, depending on which version you are building. I've used the 'wrong' one (without the enlarged fuel tank), but this will look better once the wing is split into two and attached to the fuselage sides.
That's All For Now, Stay Tuned . . .
cheers,
Robin.

More entries are always welcome!
Off to a good start.

Okay . . .
Got a bit behind with this . . . this is because the engine exhaust pipes have to fit from the inside, but because of their length, they have to go in before the fuselage halves are joined. So I had to paint and finish them before i could assemble the fuselage,
(https://i.postimg.cc/9Fc3Mh7V/02-fuselage.jpg) (https://postimages.org/)
and the wings attached.

Now that sounds like a thunky bit of model engineering ???
Looking the biz with the wings on, though, Robin

Yeah, it's not the best, I'm a little bit disappointed, considering it's a Special hobby kt, and a new tool at that . . .
But anyway,
Undercarriage on, have to be careful, it's quite delicate . . .

Nice  That national/Aero emblem looks like Mr Magoo art. ;D

Neat!

Thanks, Gents . . . :D :-[
The colour is Vallejo Model Color 70.844/66 Deep Sky Blue, the pictures are a little bit dark, and a little bit more turquoise-y than the true shade.
It's a 'Dirty Harry' paint job; 'did I use six coats, or only five ?', all brush painted.
cheers,
Robin.

Very nice, Robin!

And with that in mind, it looks "Smooth, with a capital Smoo".

;D . . .
I used a new technique on this model, I painted each coat with a different brush. The idea is, each brush has it's owm brushmark pattern, so using the same brush repeatedly reinforces the same pattern and makes it visibly obvious. on the other hand, using a different brush, with a different brushmark pattern, will tend to cancel out the previous brushmark pattern, giving a better finish. If, as in this case, there will be more coats than brushes, I alternate the brushes, making sure that I don't use the same brush for consecutive coats.
cheers,
Robin.

I like this, a nice subtle mod and great colour
