I'm working on preliminary designs for a Wessex in a VIP role (like the one used by the Queens flight) in a world in which the house of Wessex were still the rulling family of England.
I have a question: What was the space aft of the cabin bulkhead used for, and could a small lavatory be placed there?
Also do you know what the best places to enquire about such information?

Does this help?

These references might help as well = obviously you will be looking for the Westland Wessex HCC Mk.4 model:

What scale are you planning?

Aft of the cabin bulkhead was an electrical equipment 'room' with a passageway between racks to reach the rear fuselage space. If you move the sparky stuff elsewhere, you'd have room to install a chemical toilet and wash basin.
Note that the opening to the rear fuselage is slightly offset to starboard. Likely, you'll want your toilet set to the portside with the (fold up?) basin to starboard to make for easier access to the rear fuselage for maintenance.
Usually, there was a snap-in-place cloth cover over that opening to the rear fuselage. For a VVIP interior, you'd want to replace that cover with a better-looking removable panel that matched the rest of the decor.

Yes thank you!!
I'm planning on doing it in 1:72, using an Italeri HAS.3 [https://www.scalemates.com/kits/italeri-1258-wessex-has3--104219] kit I have in my stash.

Thanks for the information!

I've got a 1:144 F-14 I plan to finish in the next week, and I've just started a 1:144 Harrier, so updates might be slow.
My current plan is to base the external color scheme on the Queens Flight Wessex with the colors, insignia, and flag changed.
I'm currently still iterating through ideas for a replacement for the RAF roundel.
When I get to it I'll probably add a few out of use Old English letters [like Thorn] to the registration number.
I hope to finish with drawing a mock-up drawing by next weekend. When I've got it done I'll post it here.
Thanks again for the help!

might need to update as was planned -- new extended forward fuselage with glass cockpit, new engine etc ;)

I like this idea

Well as a starter in the idea train, the 43 (Wessex) Infantry Division in WW 2 used the Wessex Dragon

Decals are around, although maybe a bit small as they would be Unit Tac sign size for vehicles

I'd love to hear your C&C!

Nice, but I was hoping for this ....

That's an interesting idea!! I'm not sure my scratch-building skills are up for that, but I'll save it to my [long] list of ideas to build as I get better!
One of the ideas I already have on my list is to turn a M-577 [the command station version of the M-113] into an all-terrain [and amphibious] mobile home.

I like the M113 idea
