Picture Frame Diorama - Loading Bay
« on: August 31, 2020, 08:12:47 PM »
This is my first try at building a picture frame diorama. Hope you like the results.

----------------------------------------

Below are two photos of the model and the real one that inspired this build.

Yeah, I can tell the difference but only when seen side-by-side. Brilliant work! :icon_alabanza: :icon_alabanza: 8)

I had a hard time telling the difference, until I saw the frame. You’re an artist, Charles.

I don't believe they're real models.  I think you're just doing more photo manipulation.  You can't be that good...or if you are, its time to give up the hobby...maybe take up gardening... ;)

Of course its a real model. The weathering on door #30 is far less convincing than that of #29  ;)

I asked my wife which was the picture and which was the model... (I zoomed in so she couldn't see the frame) it took her a while and then picked the real picture as the "model" because the bricks, dust and stains looked a little too uniform.

Charles - how did you do the brinks? Is that a product or a printout of a brick wall?

Wow!!!!!! Thank your wife for me. I too thought like her. I did not want to make the bricks too uniform. The bricks were made using formboard, a ruler, and a sharp hobby knife. A little tedious to do but the results are great. I then painted everything with a Vallejo red brown paint. Then picked out the individual bricks with a different brown color. I then went over everything with wall spackel to fill the crevices. That was it.

Having done warehouse & truck loading work, diorama looks right as what one would expect.     Unusual subject !

That's not what I meant. I meant "very, nay, EXTREMELY difficult", even when side-by-side, but there are a few tiny give-aways up close.
