Some screen-shots from the 2009 PC real-time strategy game "Codename: Panzers - Cold War"

Thought I'd repost these as the game seems tailor-made for this GB. 1949. A Soviet fighter collides with an American transport aircraft during the Berlin Airlift - and all hell breaks loose!

In the third mission, I managed to, err, "liberate" this beast from the Soviets (which is why it's sporting US insignia). It looks brutal - because it is!

M41 equipped with a flame thrower

Resupply by CH-37 Mojave

T-62 (with ERA!) and Projekt 416

Tiger with M26 Pershing

M103 heavy tank with ERA

Combat resupply:
M41 delivered by CH-54 Tarhe

Captured Skoda St-1 PA tank hunter

Projekt 461 with standard 100mm gun

Projekt 461 with the same artillery rocket modification as the T-54
The gun (or what's left of it) is apparently a dummy and not a demolition gun as I thought before

Another shot of the T-62 with ERA and what I think is an air defence missile pod on the bustle

Cutscene

Cheers,
Moritz

How about, so long as the war clouds start gathering before the lend lease Shermans are returned, the British decide to upgrade theirs to a common, much improved, standard.  Say Sherman V (M-4A4) hull, making re-engining easier, HVSS, Jumbo style add on armour and most importantly the larger T23 turret, initially for a superior 17pdr installation but then the 20pdr.

Would the M4A4 engine bay be large enough for a RR Meteor?
Would the T23 turret be able to handle a 20pdr?

In a similar vein to this then, which I might just get on with and join the GB if my work schedule eases up a bit (really busy right now as it's the middle of construction season at the YYC where I work now [6 day weeks working anywhere between 10-14 hours a day])

Love it.
Perfect companion IMO is YB-60. Another beauty.

and if you buy Anigrand's 1/44 kit of the YB-60, you also get a XF-90 (amongst other things):

Maybe do a flying diorama of a Red Tailed XF-90 escorting an operation B-60 on a mission... ;)

Just had a thought on the cause of the war.  Japan is very lucky through 1942, perhaps there carriers survive Midway, and a stalemate is reached in the Pacific leading to an armistice in late 42 early 43.  The Allies concentrate on Germany but remain very concerned about Japan and following their liberation the French and Dutch are very agitated about their lost colonies.
