Artoor's Lockdown thread :)

Artoor_K:
Hello,

well , there is only one thing good in this lockdown-I can  stay home and built. So I'm building as much as I can...How long you can play computer games?:)

At first...F3F-3 from Revell/Monogram 1/32 which is...Gulfhawk with different engine cowling :) Because barrel-like fuselage is ... simply cute so I have to had this one.
Of course there is a whole list of cirrections that I should do but I plan to do...absolutely nothing :D

Well not at all but making wings longer as it should be? No way :D But new instrument panel, seatbelts? Why not...So without further delay...Let's go :)

Frank3k:
That is an ancient - but awesome - kit! My Dad built it when I was a kid - it had working retractable gear and it was nicely detailed. I still have the pilot, somewhere.

Brian da Basher:
It's going to be fun to see you build this classic in your own inimitable style!

I'm certainly going to be watching this come together! 8)

Few things needs to be remembered while building vintage models:
-old model means old styrene. Old styrene means fragile styrene. Smaller the part, more fragile then :)
-bigger model, fewer details :)
-people at Monogram were clever. Check documentation before blaming anybody for decal error :)
-people at Monogram were also lazy. One new part doesn't make different aiplane :)
-check fit before sanding, sometimes  flash is really something important :)
-there is no such thing as thin enough plastic profile to restore raised panel lines. If you think is thin enough then it needs to be thined more :)
-water-based putty doesn't harm paint. Cotton bud used for polishing does :)
-all mechanisms are working better when knobs are metal or made of new styrene profiles
-sometimes montage sequence in instruction is logical :)
-aluminium foil from yoghurt seal is perfect for seat belts :)

After learning these rules I could put Grumman on it's own wheels :D Now I'm waiting for AK Rigging line to finish this one :)
