Officially it was known as an airborne aircraft carrier (AAC).

Here is a very poorly scanned 75 page report from 1973. Presented in the standard Top Secret Report Courier font.

The 747 website is here.

Now we need both aircraft to be available in 1/72 and 1/48 scales.  The 1/72 747 is already available at AIM.
