Things to do with the M4A3E2
(1/1)
AndyJ:
Hi all
Been a long time since I've been on here as I've been working on depictions of real vehicles, about the only whif I've been doing is location of jerrycans ;D
Anyhoo, I've been toying around with a couple of ideas using the Tasca M4A3E2:
1) Sherman MkIVcy* - A British 17 pdr armed variant with HVSS (I believe that this has already been done though).
2) M4A3E2 105 mm HVSS - US heavy assault tank with a gun that will really give someone a bad day.
Off to Tasca to order the suspension and lower hull sprues...

after seeing the pic below, I had this idea to .... move the engine to the mid-section, add a BIG gun (ie from a M-107/110) plus the walkways for the crew .....

Skink Mk II for Korea!
AndyJ:
Good ideas, especially the Jumbo Skink. Definitely make short work of human waves...
The big gun idea however has me thinking of a true assault gun mounting either a T15 high velocity 90 mm or even a high velocity 105 mm in a heavily armoured limited traverse casemate. Sort of a T95 Lite.

Could try for an updated T40/M9 Tank destroyer/3" Gun Motor Carriage . It was based on the M3 but never entered production. Would be natural for an M4 based design to be attempted. I know the M10 was based on the M4's chassis but it had a turret and different hull. How about a turret less one in the style of the StuG or one of the SU-85s or 100s?
