I need suggestions for my VF-0's gun.

I may use the standard GPU-9 as seen in the anime Macross Zero.
But i'm very open to suggestions! ;)
I do like the rifle system used on the YF-19 in Macross Plus. Gives you the ability to reload!

Given this is a what-if site and all...while macross and gundam are both possible futures, you can always branch it more and go with a whole new gun pod design. Draw up your own, think about even some practical problems with tactics you may have seen from the anime and a better weapon to solution them. Maybe a particle cannon versus a projectile type? Something to give you that extra edge.

Also, maybe a rail gun type?
Maybe mount a grenade launcher under the gun itself?
Many ideas here.
