Not a joke. Just bad timing. Via The Modelling News.

Some things we do know:
1/ This is NOT an April fools joke
2/ The kit comes in 1/72nd scale, which is still massive - the  turret and kit is 50cm long from guns to the rear of the deck
3/ The nameplate included - we are not sure if the sister ship the Musashi is included
4/ However there ARE two marking choices included in the box - maybe one for each ship?
5/ The kit consists of injection moulded plastic for No.2 turret and platform

SA-N-7. They already have an AK-130 turret in 1/35. Interesting. Wonder if they will eventually release a four-and-a-half metre Sovremenny-class "display base". 

Love the M60 box-art. Probably a must-buy.

According to The Modelling News, TAKOM will also release a German 1/16 Wiesel A1 TOW airborne "tank". LINK!

you mean something like this?  not a Ratte as such, but a 1/700 battleship turret mated to a 1/144 King Tiger (other scales are available) - at least this one doesn't take up much room

I guess it depends on what scale this is aiming for. My idea was for a ridiculously impractical contraption trying to put an actual battleship turret on a land-mobile platform. (Seriously, what was the guy who thought up "Ratte" smoking?)

I must say, though, that if that thing in the picture is to be a 1/144 twin-barrelled King Tiger, then it works really well  (disregarding the impracticalities of twin main gun layouts for a moment).

Not much room on the Chieftain for all of the associated big gray boxes.  Maybe something more accommodating like a tractor-trailer rig?

New purpose for the old Renwal/Revell Atomic Cannon tractors?  Just needs a new purpose built section to hold the missile system between the two prime mover units.

1) swap  out the missile packs on a M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (or, is that to "normal")?
2) Scammel Commander with a trailer mounted sytem, or
3) at a push a MAN SX45(L)

I always thought the Sea Dart's nose was very reminiscent of a MiG-21.

Although this video of a less than spectacular Seadart launch  caught my eye some years back.
