What if an IFV based on T-34?

BTW: It would be a very confortable vehicle in the rigors of russian winter. 8)

Where's the engine? Is it Flintsone powered? The guy in the back is going to be extra warm if those fuel tanks get hit...

Of course, one could use something such as an AT-42 or AT-45 as the basis for a T-34 APC:

Trainload of vintage T-34 tanks wows Russians

A train carrying 30 vintage T-34 Soviet tanks has arrived near Moscow after an epic journey that took the tanks by sea and by rail from South-East Asia.

Russian families braved freezing temperatures to greet the unusual cargo when it arrived in Naro-Fominsk, 80km (50 miles) from the capital.

Russian media say Laos, an old Soviet ally, gave the tanks as a gift.

Other comments indicate these are not WWII builds but rather from Czechoslovakia from the 1950s.

Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

Transferring from the Soviet tank thread, just to add to this narrative.

Yemen, recently.

Additional - Yemen government T-34/85s defending the coast of the weird island of Socotra.

Random idea:  The T-34 can trace its heritage back to the BT series of fast tanks.  One of the intermediary steps was the A-20.  This, lhad an 8×6-wheel convertible drive similar to the BT tank's 8×2, which allowed it to run on wheels without tracks.

Above:  BT-2 tank rigged for road movement without tracks.

Above from left: BT-7, A-20 fast tank prototype, T-34 Model 1940, T-34 Model 1941.

eventually this feature was dropped before we got to the T-34.  But what if it hadn't and thus we had T-34s also able to run on just wheels rather than tracks?

Per google, "No other sizes of this image found".

It looks to me like an early T-34 ARV with the 14.5mm on the back deck where the cargo/parts/tools box usually sits.

I'm wondering if it's actually a Su-100 with the lash up gun on the back deck.  From the angle shown it might look like a T-34:

It also looks like a ZPU-1 on the rear:

Both would have been potentially available in Lebanon in 1982 too.  As for kits, there's a few Su-100s around in 1/35 along with ZPU-1s.

It's hard to tell from the picture - it's from an angle where both the Su-100 and T-34 are all but identical - but it looks like the Su-100 casement.

Russian World War 2 T-34 tanks still fighting in Yemen war

The T-34/85 still seems to have a useful punch as a direct-fire support platform in such conflicts. Does anyone know what the HE content was for the Soviet 85 mm tank gun?

For close-support, the most promising round would seem to be the Soviet UO-365K with the thick-bodied O-365K fragmentation projectile. There's also a UO-365/O-365 combo which, as far as I can tell, differs only in fuse type.

Post-war T-34 fitted with a launching rail for the Izdeliye 10 missile (copy of the German V-1). This is a great set of photos showing what would be needed to launch a V-1 missile from a tank. In contrast to what you normally see with V-1's mounted on the Flak 41 ;D

Never seen that picture. It looks completely impractical. What's carrying the V-1?

I think a shorter launch ramp and a couple booster rockets, such as teh USN did with the Loon copy of the V-1 would work better here.

To install this french 105mm gun in some other WWII turrets could be a good Idea IMO.
