Comrades! It has come to the attention of The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production that there has been a grave oversight in the establishment of this Group Build!
There is no official thread for the posting of ideas and inspiration to further enflame the proletariat and encourage more of our illustrious membership to take part in the march of relentless socialist zeal!
This is now such a place. Post your ideas and inspiring links, photos, diagrams, etc here for all.

Due to this embarrassing omission, Oleg Froyoskov, the Sixth Deputy Secretary for Frozen Yogurt Treats, of The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production has been "reassigned" to an undetermined period of years in the #17 Рыбная ферма Красного Октября (Red October Sprue Farm).
Poor Oleg, seen here in happier times:

Привлекайте других к нашей великой борьбе
Recruit others to our great struggle!
Comrades! Members of this Modelling Collective known as Beyond the Sprues! Now is the time! This is the place! Come join the march to a new dawn of soviet comradeship as we defend the Motherland from the decadent western so-called "democracies"!
Our glorious air forces are growing stronger every day, BUT! We have need of vehicles for the Red Army, the shield of our great nation! We also must have ships for the Red Banner fleets in order to keep those cursed naval forces of the west far from our shores!
Svetlana, The Committee of State Sanctioned Modelling, Alternative History and Tractor Carburettor Production's Second Deputy for Encouraging Recalcitrant Members, is vigilantly ready to "convince" you to participate.

More Abstract, (and its a 6 pointed star obviously) but the look is very "Russian/Soviet" to my eye:

Maybe some inspiration from the real world (kind of - imagine if the USSR was still in existence rather than plain ol' Russia):
Russia Submits MiG-29 Plane Delivery Terms to Argentina
(Source: TASS-Defense; published April 5, 2017)
RIO DE JANEIRO --- Russia has submitted terms of the delivery of Mikoyan MiG-29 (NATO reporting name: Fulcrum) fighter jets to Argentina, Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Anatoly Punchuk told TASS.
"Argentina has shown interest in the delivery of MiG-29 planes," said Punchuk, who had headed the Russian delegation at the LAAD 2017 international arms exhibition.
"All proposals have been submitted to it. Now, our Argentinian partners are considering the Russian proposals concerning the delivery of MiG-29 planes," he added.
According to Punchuk, planes of the type are suitable for Argentina’s Armed Forces and for operation in local geographical conditions.
"However, military hardware delivery contracts should have a comprehensive nature and envisage the establishment of repair and maintenance facilities, the training of specialists and the delivery of spare parts and components. Thus, it is too early to speak about the time when the contract will be signed and the delivery will begin," Punchuk said.
According to him, Russia is ready to continue cooperation in this area.

Interesting. Peru's been operating the MiG-29 for 20 years and—as I understand it—they're fairly happy with them. Argentina also recently acquired two Mil Mi-17E/171s for use in the Antarctic, and I think they're liking them, too, so they're somewhat familiar with the process of buying and operating Russian equipment.
There's nothing inherently impractical about this plan, but it would seem to be more of a vanity purchase or a capabilities display than a practical solution for a country intending to operate the aircraft regularly. Considering Argentina's money troubles, the MiG-29 is cheap (which is good) but is considered a bit expensive to operate (which is bad). Its serviceability rate isn't great and its engines guzzle fuel rather than sipping it. Also, as I understand it, recommended time between overhauls is rather short and much of that work needs to be done in Russia. MiG has also been heavily criticized for its poor after-sales support. I've read a lot on that point from Malaysia, Hungary, Algeria, India, and Iran. Hungary's already retired theirs and Malaysia isn't too far behind (they've already threatened once).
This isn't the worst idea, but I kind of doubt it'll actually happen. The MiG-29 is only "cheap" by comparison to other aircraft and if the Kfir proved to be too rich for their blood, I suspect the MiG-29 won't fair any better.
Cheers,
Logan

Throwing out an idea for a parts-box build. The Su-15 looks to share a basic wing with the Su-11 and Su-9 while the Su-9 shares a fuselage with the Su-7. How about mating a Su-7I, or Su-17 wing, and guns, with a SU-15 fuselage for a predecessor/complement to the Su-24? Perhaps with a nose pitched down for greater ground target visibility?

Precisely. Though I might figure out how to add the wing root cannons, too.

^ If you're going for the Flogger's duckbill nose, the GSh-6-30 might also be an option. :)

If you're interested in a ground attack Su-15, remember the Su-15Sh:
