That Transall C-160/V-22 Osprey match up is well balanced and looks like it would actually work.

FinsRin said it best, I second that and have to add that in the last image it appears that the reflection off of the upper wing is from the windows along the fuselage but it looks like the internal framing of the wing at first glance.  A very neat visual trick on the eyes.

cockpit from a Mosquito : kind of side-by-side twin-seater

I hesitated a bit w.r.t. tail fins, but preferred the full flying wing

That is SOO Luft'46 . . . would need a dorsal or tail turret . . .
Or a second generation V-Bomber with Skybolts, or UK equivalent, HP Victor Mk.4, perhaps ?

cheers,
Robin.

@EricR - Brilliant idea!  I tried something similar years ago with the wings from an Airfix Vulcan and never got very far with it.  The obvious fault with my attempt was not using the inboard section of the fuselage/wing with the air intakes and exhaust.
