Robomog:
Hi all
The title of this entry will totally give away the nature of the vehicle and its colour, but hey-ho.
The starting point is this.....

It's 1/48th scale spitfire that I originally started super detailing before it went into storage, now with a lot of the parts and enhancements missing, it is dieing the death of a thousand swatches.
I am still resolving the final design in my brain at the moment so I will post any progress as soon as something happens.

........ and so it begins.
I've managed to remove the wings and split the fuselage quite easily. But have found that the plastic is unusually brittle, probably due to being stored unprotected In the box of doom in the loft for a number of years. This model is really old as at the time of original construction I was using plastic wood as a filler which predates the first body putty for plastic kits.
So first things first, plated over the engine bay and filled with Milliput.

Then some experimentation with a conning tower......

All the curvy bits that go into the wing were were filed/sanded off to give it a proper hull and a couple of split bulkheads were added to bolster up the brittle plastic.......

It was at this point I realised there was a big hole to fill and I had set myself up for some serious PSR. ................aaaargh !
More as it happens.......

Brian da Basher:
Wow instant conning tower! Now that's some serious sub juju there Mog!
Reminds me of something awful I did to a 1/144 Super Guppy a while back:
The idea was that Yoko Ono lost her fortune on a disastrous fashion line.
So she did a Yellow Submarine musical re-boot to make her money back.
Your version is bound to be less offensive to the modeling gods than mine was.
Best of luck! I think you've made a grand start!
